From a shared vision

Founded in New Delhi in 2012, Maalabay was born from a recognition that India and Japan share profound complementary strengths — and that navigating between them requires more than translation. It requires deep cultural fluency, institutional trust, and genuine on-the-ground experience.

As India's exclusive affiliate of Japan Intercultural Consulting, we operate with internationally validated frameworks developed over decades of research. With presence in New Delhi and Tokyo, we provide continuous, in-market support on both sides.

Over more than a decade, we have guided more than 30 organisations through the intricacies of Japan–India business — from HR compliance and legal structuring to executive training and government liaison.

With over two decades of global experience, Mohita Modgill is an authority on cross-cultural HR strategy and Japan–India business integration. A York University alumna and former UNDP professional, she has dedicated her career to turning cultural complexity into competitive advantage.

She specialises in identifying and building synergies between Indian and Japanese businesses — bridging gaps, aligning expectations, and enabling more effective, sustainable collaboration across both markets.
